Ambassador Edvin Skrt presented his Letters of Credence to the King of Sweden
Stockholm, 21 February, 2019 - Ambassador Edvin Skrt presented his credentials to His Majesty Carl XVI Gustav, King of Sweden.
At the official audience at the Stockholm Royal Palace, the Ambassador conveyed the personal greetings of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor to His Majesty. In the conversation, the friendly relations between the peoples of Slovenia and Sweden were emphasised and the challenges that climate changes bring to humanity.
The Ambassador hosted a Vin d’Honneur for representatives of the Swedish Foreign Ministry, other ministries and members of the Diplomatic Corps from the EU Member States. In his speech the Ambassador underlined close ties between with Slovenia in Sweden, common values, commitment to the rule of law, democracy and multilateralism and interests for further close bilateral cooperation. The Ambassador also stressed that many Slovenians who found their second homeland in Sweden in nineteen sixties to this day form a living bridge between the two countries.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to the Protocol of the Royal Court for all the arrangements in preparations for presentation of credentials.
