Political cooperation

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Kingdom of Denmark were established on 20 January 1992.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Iceland were established on 24 February 1992.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Kingdom of Norway were established on 18 February 1992.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Finland were established on 17 February 1992.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Kingdom of Sweden were established on 29 January 1992.

In addition to Kingdom of Denmark Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Denmark diplomatically  also covers other four Nordic countries, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Iceland and, as a result of the interconnection between the accreditation countries, also acts as a regional embassy. Prosperity, good social welfare system, protection of human rights and equal opportunities, high contribution in the field of development assistance, sustainable development, green energy and environmental protection are just some of the areas common to all Nordic countries.

Successful representation of Slovenian interests in accordance with Slovenia's foreign policy priorities and response to the actions of the country concerned - both from a bilateral and multilateral point of view - are key diplomatic activities of our Embassy in the political field. This requires the maintenance of good political relations with all countries of accreditation at the highest level and different working levels. In the framework of bilateral and multilateral relations, we are developing comprehensive cooperation with all countries of accreditation, which in addition to political dialogue at all levels also covers economic, scientific, cultural and other forms of cooperation.
